Bays Planet Foundation is a legally registered non-governmental organization (NGO) under both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria. Our organization is dedicated to creating positive social change and sustainable development across various domains. Established in January 2018, we adhere to the principles of equality, empowerment, and environmental protection.

At Bays Planet Foundation, our focus areas include women’s rights, combating social and domestic violence, addressing climate change, and supporting children and young people. We work towards these goals through community engagement, policy and research, storytelling, empowerment, and education, aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With a global outlook and a strong commitment to making a difference in our community, we strive to contribute towards a more equitable, safe, and resilient world for all. Our organization is led by a dedicated team of young people and women who are passionate about creating a safe space for everyone.

Since our launch in 2018, we have successfully implemented various projects. These initiatives include educational outreaches to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among women and girls, advocacy campaigns against sexual abuse and gender-based violence, climate action and community engagements. We have also hosted several stakeholder meetings, one of which played a pivotal role in the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act in Kwara State, Nigeria, in October 2020.

Our impact extends to over 20,500 individuals, reached through our physical projects, online engagements, and partnerships with other reputable organizations. We continue to work diligently to drive positive change and create a better future for our society.

In addition to our broader initiatives, Bays Planet Foundation has established two notable programs: She Leads Climate Action and Girl Up Nigeria. These initiatives are aimed at empowering and mobilizing young women and girls to become leaders in the fight against climate change and promoting gender equality in Nigeria.

She Leads Climate Action: She Leads Climate Action is a program specifically designed to empower young women and girls to take active roles in addressing climate change. Through this initiative, we provide training, mentorship, and resources to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to become climate leaders in their communities. She Leads Climate Action encourages young women to engage in climate advocacy, sustainable practices, and innovative solutions for environmental conservation.

Girl Up Nigeria: Girl Up Nigeria is an initiative that focuses on promoting gender equality and empowering girls in Nigeria. We believe that every girl deserves equal opportunities, education, and a safe and supportive environment to thrive. Through Girl Up Nigeria, we provide educational scholarships, mentorship, and leadership development programs to empower girls to reach their full potential. We advocate for girls’ rights, raise awareness about gender-based issues, and work towards dismantling barriers that hinder their progress.

Both She Leads Climate Action and Girl Up Nigeria reflect our commitment to promoting sustainable development, gender equality, and empowering young women and girls as change agents. Through these initiatives, Bays Planet Foundation aims to create a more inclusive and environmentally conscious society while nurturing the next generation of leaders.
